The
HandyChore Program is a Service that can be utilized
by seniors living in owner-occupied homes. The agency
will provide minor repairs and maintenance to seniors'
homes in order for the senior to remain independent
and living in a safe and familiar atmosphere. Services
of the HandyChore Program include minor plumbing and
electrical work, limited yard work and snow removal,
repair/replacement/installation of storm doors and
windows, and installation of handrails/ramps/deadbolt
locks.
Seniors
are asked to be responsible for the cost of equipment
needed for the work, but there is no fee for the
labor. However, donations are greatefullu
appreciated.
Since
funding for the program is limited, and there is often
a waiting list for services, the client may ask for
the "FEE-FOR-SERVICE HANDYCHORE" Program.
There is a fee of $15.00 per hour for the service with
a 2 hour minimum. In addition, the senior will also be
responsible for the cost of the materials.
