TeleCare Volunteers Needed

Are you looking for a way to volunteer without leaving your home? TeleCare can provide that opportunity. The number of older adults living alone increases each year. Because they live by themselves they are in special jeopardy from accidents or sudden illness. For this reason, a daily telephone call at an arranged time each day can help relive their fears and anxieties and help sustain independence.

The TeleCare Program pairs individual volunteers with seniors who live alone.  The volunteers call each day, or as often as the client wishes, to check on their well-being and safety and to have a friendly chat.  This also helps relieve loneliness.  TeleCare may be the only call they receive that day and has proven to make a difference in their lives.

Both volunteer callers and those wanting to be called fill out a registration and  information sheet to help match calling times and other interests.  When the registration sheet is returned to our office, the volunteer and client will be matched. Usually the process takes about two weeks. We are always looking for volunteers and always are happy to have new clients who wish to be called.

Please contact Rosie at 426-0060 or at info@allencoa.com.
